While 3D printing is not a new technology, it is only in recent years that 3D printers have been made available for general public use. Now any designer, from amateur to professional, can take designs they have created or downloaded from the Internet and create a three-dimensional object. The Library's 3D printer, the Prusa MK3S, uses a corn-based filament called PLA to create objects or "things." Although the Prusa is very advanced, it is limited in what it can create; for example, it cannot replicate a working gun. The Library offers 3D-related programming for all ages. To print an object using the printer, please email your obj or .stl file per [email protected]g. Con il messaggio e-mail, includi il tuo nome e i primi tre colori desiderati per la tua stampa: clicca qui per visualizzare l'elenco dei colori attualmente disponibili. Se possibile, includi il tempo necessario per realizzare la stampa. La Biblioteca addebita 25 centesimi per mezz'ora di tempo impiegato per la stampa. Non accettiamo stampe il cui completamento richieda più di 8 ore. Le richieste di stampa vengono effettuate in base all'ordine di arrivo. Si prega di attendere 1-2 settimane affinché l'oggetto venga stampato. La Biblioteca ti contatterà quando il tuo oggetto sarà pronto per essere ritirato e pagato. Al momento del ritiro, il membro può decidere se accettare e pagare la stampa. Se la stampa non viene eseguita in modo soddisfacente per il membro, questi può richiedere di rifarla.
